ShareLedger Soft Fork September 2022

ShareLedger, the underlying blockchain to the ecosystem of ShareRing, has just undergone a soft fork on 22 September 2022.

This ‘update’ took ShareLedger to Cosmos SDK v0.44.0, Tendermint v0.34.14, and Cosmos IBC to v3.0.0, including some significant changes in the Binance (BNB Smart Chain) to ShareLedger (SLP3) swapping process.

What new features does this soft fork offer in the BEP20-SLP3 swapping process? 

All swap requests will now be recorded on ShareLedger, and transaction volume will be increased on ShareLedger.

The process will use EIP712 to sign and verify the approvals on smart contracts, including a relayer role to process approved swap requests, on top of a reduced use of centralized databases to keep transactional data. 

The cost of swapping will be reduced, as most of the transactions will be completed on ShareLedger rather than on Ethereum, but the swapping process will continue to support both Ethereum (ERC20) and BNB Smart Chain (BEP20).

Overall, users can expect greater performance improvement with this soft fork.
